Reqiva are currently working with an exciting company building a scalable data platform based in Exeter who are on the lookout for a Lead Developer with Java experience to join their rapidly expanding team. 

This is a fantastic opportunity to be a key part of an Agile team working to build a top-class data platform. You will be reporting to the CTO, running the development team while being hands on!
  
Up to £80k with share options, remote working with 2 days in office per month!

Lead Developer Responsibilities:

• Developing & maintaining Java applications.
• Interpreting briefs to create high quality code that matches specifications.
• Plan, prioritise, assign, and execute tasks through the full development cycle.
• Identifying and resolving issues with applications.
• Performing Peer code reviews.
• Mentoring team members helping their growth.

  
  
Lead Developer Skillset:

• 5+ years’ working experience in software development.
• Experience in Java development.
• Good working knowledge of Spring / Hibernate / Junit / Mockito
• Experience in the following technologies is advantageous: React, Cassandra, Elastic Search, Spark, Docker, Kubernetes, Azure (AWS or GCP is acceptable).
• Familiar with Agile Development practices and Scrum.
• Experienced with team management and mentorship.
• Ideally educated in software/engineering or system related subject to BSc level or higher.
• Be personable and have good communication skills, pro-active and confident to present in team meetings when required.

  
You don’t need to have experience with everything listed but you do need to be hungry to learn.
