Lead React Developer

The Role

Our client is looking for a Lead UI Developer, specialising in React, to join and lead their UI team. The candidate will also work alongside the API developers (.net), QA engineers and Product owner in their cross-functional SCRUM team.

The role is extremely varied and would include day-to-day Sprint tasks, stand-alone projects and improvements to the UI. Additionally, there will be an element of working with the rest of the team deciding on the architectural direction of the UI.

About you

You must have or be able to demonstrate the following technical skills and experience:

• 3+ years commercial JavaScript experience
• 2+ years React experience (use of hooks is preferable)
• 1+ years of working in a lead role
• 1+ years mentoring more junior developers
• Testing frameworks such as Jest, Enzyme
• Redux / other state management tools
• Solid understanding of reusable/component-based development (ES6 modules/imports)
• A proven track record of developing performant and scalable commercial web applications
• Strong problem-solving skills

The following technical skills or experience is desirable:

• Exposure to additional JS frameworks e.g. Angular, Vue
• JS tooling and deployment (WebPack, CI/CD, ESLint, Babel, Prettier)
• Responsive design and UI framework (i.e. Material UI), including cross browser compatibility
