Power Electronics Engineer | Hybrid

Reqiva have an unique and exciting opportunity for a Power Electronics Engineer to join a established, successful technology consultancy based in Cambridge. 

As an Power Electronics Engineer you will be working on technically challenging projects to find solutions to real-world problems across a range of industries. You will help their clients respond to the global challenges of sustainability, energy transition, synthetic chemistry and environmental technologies.

This role will involve a mix of desk-based ideas-generation, problem solving as well as hands-on experimental work. You will also enjoy using this growing knowledge base to explore new business opportunities. 

The successful candidate for this Power Electronics Engineer role will ideally gave some of the below requirements, 

  • A 1st or 2:1 bachelor's degree in Electronic Engineering or equivalent experience in successful product development and/or research into the following.
  • Experaince in advanced power converter development: inverters, motor drives, battery chargers
  • Knowledge / experience of Digital and analogue control circuit development for power converters
  • Design for Electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) and safety compliance
  • Application of wide-bandgap power semiconductors: SiC and GaN
  • Problem solving - you take an analytical and structured approach to solving technical challenges
  • Communication skills - you thrive when working in multidisciplinary teams and can communicate effectively with clients
