Job Title: Cloud Security Architect 

Location: Reading | Hybrid or full remote

They continue to expand their cloud infrastructure, they are looking for a highly skilled Cloud Security Architect to ensure their cloud environments are secure, resilient, and aligned with best practices.

You will be an experienced Cloud Security Architect to lead the design and implementation of secure cloud solutions across the organisation. In this role, you will be responsible for embedding security into our cloud architecture, ensuring that all cloud-based systems and applications are protected against evolving threats. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to develop security strategies, implement security controls, and guide our cloud security initiatives from concept through execution.

Key Responsibilities:

• Cloud Security Architecture:
  • Design and implement secure cloud architectures for our applications, infrastructure, and services across multiple cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
  • Develop and enforce cloud security standards, policies, and best practices to protect data and workloads in the cloud.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and industry standards in cloud environments.
• Security Integration:
  • Work with DevOps and development teams to integrate security into the software development lifecycle (SDLC) and CI/CD pipelines, promoting DevSecOps practices.
  • Implement security controls, such as identity and access management (IAM), encryption, network security, and monitoring, to safeguard cloud resources.
• Risk Management:
  • Conduct cloud security risk assessments and threat modelling to identify potential vulnerabilities and design mitigation strategies.
  • Stay ahead of emerging cloud security threats and vulnerabilities by conducting regular security reviews and audits of cloud environments.
  • Provide guidance on secure cloud configurations and respond to security incidents affecting cloud infrastructure.
• Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Collaborate with engineering, IT, and security teams to ensure cloud security is integrated into all stages of system design and deployment.
  • Mentor and train team members on cloud security best practices and emerging technologies.
  • Engage with stakeholders to ensure cloud security strategies align with business goals and objectives.

Skills & Experience Required:

• Extensive experience in cloud security architecture, with a deep understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their security features.
• Proven expertise in designing and implementing secure cloud infrastructures, including network security, IAM, encryption, and monitoring.
• Strong knowledge of DevSecOps practices and experience integrating security into CI/CD pipelines and cloud-native development.
• Familiarity with cloud compliance frameworks (e.g., ISO 27001, NIST, GDPR) and the ability to implement compliant cloud solutions.
• Proficiency in cloud automation tools and scripting languages (e.g., Terraform, Ansible, Python).
• Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex systems and develop innovative security solutions.

Qualifications:

• Minimum 8-10 years of experience in information security, with at least 5 years focused on cloud security architecture.
• Relevant certifications such as AWS Certified Security – Specialty, Microsoft Certified: Azure Security Engineer Associate, Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) are highly desirable.
• Bachelor's or advanced degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field is preferred.
• Strong communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
