This is an opportunity for a SOC Manager to join an expanding technology and platform engineering business with offices globally. You will play a pivotal role in leading and shaping their SOC activities, ensuring the security and integrity of their digital assets worldwide.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership:
- Establish and execute a comprehensive SOC strategy aimed at identifying, preventing, detecting, and responding to complex cyber threats. Ensure the highest levels of availability, integrity, and confidentiality of critical assets and data in an evolving threat landscape.
Team Development:
- Recruit, mentor, and retain a diverse team of SOC engineers and security analysts. Foster a collaborative and high-performing team culture that promotes continuous learning, innovation, and knowledge-sharing across multiple geographies and time zones.
Technical Management:
- Manage, maintain, and potentially develop security tools and technologies, including SIEM, IDS/IPS, and threat intelligence platforms. Ensure the organisation stays ahead of emerging threats with cutting-edge solutions.
Resilience Engineering:
- Design, implement, and continuously improve security incident management processes and workflows to minimise the impact of security incidents on the business and its customers.
Qualifications and Experience required:
- 13+ years of work experience with at least 5 years in SOC management.
- Proven track record in leading and managing Security Operations Centers, ensuring effective incident response and continuous monitoring.
- Technical Skills:
- Deep understanding of cybersecurity operations, including SOC workflows, incident detection, response, and mitigation strategies.
- Proficiency in SIEM tools (e.g., Splunk, ArcSight, DataDog, QRadar), IDS/IPS, firewall management, and threat intelligence platforms.
Certifications:
- Relevant certifications such as CISSP, CISM, GIAC, or equivalent are highly desirable.
Soft Skills:
- Ability to maintain composure and lead effectively during security incidents and high-stress situations.
- Strong leadership and team management skills, with a proven ability to mentor and lead a diverse team.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively convey complex security issues to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A passion for continuous learning and staying updated with the latest cybersecurity trends, threats, and technologies.
