HSM Solutions Expert
HSM Solutions Expert
Working model: Remote (Europe or South America)
We are working with an established international cybersecurity technology company looking to appoint an experienced HSM Solutions Expert.
This is a highly technical, customer-facing role for someone who understands Hardware Security Modules at a genuinely hands-on level. You may currently work for an HSM vendor, payment technology company, bank, payment processor or an organisation that develops and supports HSM-integrated applications.
You do not necessarily need an established pre-sales background. What matters most is your ability to understand complex HSM environments, investigate technical problems and explain secure solutions clearly.
The role
You will act as a technical advisor to customers throughout the implementation lifecycle—from initial solution discussions through onboarding, integration, testing, migration and go-live.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Designing and advising on payment and general-purpose HSM solutions
- Supporting technical discussions with customers and sales teams
- Translating customer requirements into secure and practical HSM architectures
- Guiding customers through onboarding, integration, testing and go-live
- Troubleshooting HSM commands, application integrations, connectivity and configuration issues
- Supporting integrations involving APIs, client libraries and Linux environments
- Advising customers on cryptography, key management and secure configuration
- Creating practical examples or small scripts using Python and OpenSSL
- Helping integrate and productise new HSM platforms within a service environment
- Contributing to technical documentation and customer guidance
- Supporting security and compliance activities, including PCI DSS and PCI PIN
- Identifying recurring customer requirements and helping improve the wider service offering
What we’re looking for
The essential requirement is genuine hands-on experience designing, integrating, supporting or operating HSM-based solutions.
Ideally, you will have experience with one or more of the following:
- Payment HSM platforms such as AT1000, Atalla, Thales payShield or Futurex
- General-purpose HSM platforms such as SecurityServer, u.trust Anchor, Thales Luna or Entrust nShield
- Payment cryptography, PIN processing and cryptographic key management
- HSM commands, response codes and application troubleshooting
- PCI PIN, PCI DSS, TR-31, TR-34, DUKPT or key ceremonies
- PKCS#11, JCE/JCA, KMIP, OpenSSL or vendor-specific APIs
- Linux-based application and service environments
- Banks, payment processors, card platforms or large enterprise customers
You will also need:
- A strong understanding of cryptography and information security principles
- The ability to analyse complex technical integration problems
- Strong communication skills and the ability to explain technical concepts clearly
- Good written and spoken English
- The ability to work independently within an international, distributed team
Spanish language skills would be particularly valuable due to the company’s growing customer base in Latin America, although they are not essential for an exceptional HSM specialist.
The opportunity
This position offers the opportunity to:
- Work across both payment and general-purpose HSM technologies
- Remain deeply involved in hands-on technical problem-solving
- Support complex international customer implementations
- Influence the development of a growing managed HSM service
- Work flexibly within a diverse, international organisation
If you have strong hands-on HSM experience and would like a role combining technical depth, solution architecture and customer engagement, please apply now!
