Overview

We are partnered with a fast-scaling, VC-backed technology company building advanced digital logistics tech used by major global retailers and delivery organisations. Their platform already delivers at scale for customers and they are rapidly expanding across APAC.

As they grow their Australian engineering capability, they are seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer - a hands-on Senior Software Engineer who thrives at the intersection of customer delivery, product, and engineering.
This is not pre-sales or implementation work. It’s high-ownership engineering embedded directly with customers, solving real-world problems and shipping production code that impacts operations at scale.

The Role

You’ll work directly with enterprise customers, engineering teams, and product groups to build, deploy, and operate mission-critical systems. You will join the foundational engineering team in Australia and play a key role in shaping how the company scales across the region.

Expect to move fast, solve complex technical challenges, and see your work drive real-world outcomes within weeks.

Responsbilities:

• Build and deploy production systems used by major enterprise organisations
• Work closely with customer engineering, operations, and leadership teams
• Take new products from concept through to live deployment
• Design and extend backend services and core platform infrastructure
• Collaborate with product and AI teams across global offices
• Debug real-world logistics workflows involving APIs, fleets, and integrations

Experience Required: 

• 5+ years’ experience building and shipping production software
• Strong experience with APIs, backend systems, or integrations
• Tech Stack: Python, Typescript, React, AWS (they are looking for Polyglot Engineers)
• Able to move fluidly between code, customer conversations, and architectural decisions
• Bias toward speed, iteration, and full ownership
• Excellent communication skills - able to partner with both operators and executives
• Motivated by solving real-world problems that bridge digital and physical systems
