Global expansion on the agenda
Establishing the Reqiva brand overseas was always a goal for the business, but the timing had never been quite right. That all changed in April 2022 when we opened the doors to our very first international Reqiva office in Dubai. Based right in the heart of Dubai Marina with its bustling cafes, restaurants and shops lining the picturesque waterside promenade and not to mention within walking distance of The Beach at JBR and all the activities this has to offer from jet-skiing to skydiving – remind us again why you wanted to move to Dubai Ant?!
But, aside from the obvious benefits, what made Dubai the primary destination of our first international office and what plans does the business have for further expansion?
Well, who better to ask than Antony himself!
Q. Why was Dubai chosen as the first international Reqiva office?
“When choosing where to set up, it was critical we launched in a location offering ample opportunities for growth. With such initiatives as the ‘Golden Visa’ enabling foreign talent, including tech professionals, to live and work in the UAE for up to 10 years and the opening of the new Urban Tech District on the Creekside of Al Jaddaf, which will house many tech companies and offer an array of opportunities for tech professionals, the UAE had this in abundance! But what also stood out for us was that it is still a relatively untapped market for high-quality specialist tech recruitment consultancies. As an established brand in the UK, we knew that we would be able to replicate our success in the UAE and offer something really unique to the market.”
Q. So what’s next for Reqiva? Will there be further international expansion planned?
“The priority for us in the short term is certainly to build on the success we have experienced so far in Dubai. We will be looking to grow our team here and solidify our position as a top specialist consultancy for the emerging technology market across the UAE. From here, really the world is our oyster, and we are in the process of considering other possible destinations right now, so watch this space for where Reqiva will be headed next - World domination here we come!”
Well, it certainly is an exciting time for the business and with leaders like Antony at the helm, we are clearly in safe hands!
